Bringing In The Season
by LAURA CULLEN
Best Buddies from Sycamore Middle School brought holiday cheer to senior citizens at a local retirement home in early December. Donning red and green, red light-up noses, and long white beards, the middle school participants sang Christmas standards for the delighted audience.
This was a special performance, as many of the Buddies from the Sycamore program are visually or hearing impaired. Students used Braille choral books and had sign language interpreters along with them to make sure that everyone could participate in the fun!
After inviting the audience to join in a rousing rendition of We Wish You a Merry Christmas, all of the Best Buddies took time to introduce themselves to the seniors and wish them a wonderful holiday season.
From the looks on everyones faces, it was clear that these incredible students and their caroling got everyone in a festive mood! |
